Oh look at that then! The Slytherin Head of House has gone and died.

Really, I didn't expect any different, given her heritage; you know muggles are so fragile and given to simply falling over and dying, and I suppose that must have bled into her poor, sad little self. Really, I don't know why a halfblood was allowed to take control of a house to begin with, much less Slytherin House, Merlin knows no one any had any respect for her.

Which isn't to say I don't mourn her, poor darling. Of course I do! Why all of that work must have strained her so, and she was always so good with helping people. Whenever a problem was had, she always managed to come round to help with it! It's just tragic. And of course, some might say she was a bit addle-brained and perhaps even a giant bloody mug but I would never say that, not at all.

The poor woman likely died of strain, trying to counsel someone with his or her troubles.

I weep.

It was only a matter of time before she snuffed it anyway. She was a bit of a weakling after all, and like you said; look at her heritage.

Though how did she die I wonder?

Oh who knows, does it matter? Any of a number of things might have happened. Perhaps she saw a mouse and her ickle heart couldn't cope with the shock.

Oh dear, the poor thing. Well, at least she's in a better place now...

Perhaps Salazar Slytherin is beating her with his wand for her impertinence!

Would you really blame him though?

Well no, of course not darling, really a halfblood has no place being in Slytherin to begin with (or in Hogwarts really, but let us not get too deeply into that, yes?) much less placed in the Head position. It's madness, really.

Everyone knows that Slytherin is no place for a halfblood. It's bordering on the imbecilic.

Only bordering? Darling, you're too kind.

It must be the grief not letting me think properly.

Oh yes, we're all so stricken.

Why I think I'll go and cry myself to sleep tonight.

The pain is all too much for me. I'm not sure I'll ever recover...

I think I'm done with mourning now.

Oh, darling! Devona said she is willing to meet with you, but she's a bit concerned that you're too much like Sirius.

Too much like Sirius? That's just insulting! You can owl her back and assure her that I am nothing like that bloodtraitor, and I never will be.

Well she doesn't know you! And I did assure her of that, and she did say she'd meet with you. Also she said that clearly you can't be very bad because you're in Slytherin, but apparently people have been passing rumours about your parents.

Hopefully they'll stop now that Auntie has gone and spoken in the Prophet.

Who has been passing rumours about my mother and father? And why would they anyway?

Mother has spoken to the Prophet? I must find a copy.

Well I don't know, darling, I can ask her what they're saying and who, if you like. Really I'm quite curious myself. As for why I suppose it must be because of Sirius. Everyone knows about his trafficking with mudbloods and his sordid little arrangement.

And yes she has; I think there might be one on the table in the Commons? I thought I saw one.

April 5 2004, 13:21:36 UTC 8 years ago

Oh it would be because of him. I think he does it on purpose, just to bring shame on us. And please do ask her, as it's highly not on.

I'll send a first year to go get it for me in a minute.

I will do so immediately then, and yes I've often thought he must do it on purpose as well. Really, he didn't seem poufy until he got his sorry self disowned; perhaps it's pettiness and he's not actually a bender at all?

I think perhaps I'm engaging in wishful thinking, but I can't help it, it's so much prettier than reality.

April 5 2004, 13:33:17 UTC 8 years ago

Or prehaps it was getting disowned that sent him on the wrong side of the road, but I think I'll be placing my galleons on pettiness. He is so pathetic after all.

He was always on a dodgy road anyway, wasn't he, ever since he got tossed into Gryffindor. Such a bad influence, that place, all the mudbloods and halfbloods and no respect for anything, it's very unfortunate. He may have been a decent sort otherwise... although I suppose if he were a decent sort he wouldn't have been put there to begin with?
